Ayiana in a Nutshell

Undergraduate
Ayiana is an alumni of the University of Rochester. As a part of the class of 2022, she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English: Creative Writing, cum laude.
During her time at the University of Rochester, she participated in a plethora of internships to further her librarianship skills. She was awarded the Dean’s Library Service Award for her work at the River Campus Libraries.
Grad School
During the summer of 2023, Ayiana served as Lead Researcher for the Carnegie-Whitey grant project “Academic Libraries’ Retention of BIPOC-Identifying Librarians in the Field of Library Information Sciences through Mentorship: A Guide for Managers and Supervisors.” In addition, she was a User Experience Intern at the University of Rochester River Campus Libraries.
Ayiana is a recent graduate of the University at Buffalo’s Master of Science in Information and Library Science program (Spring 2024). While completing the master’s program Ayiana was also a graduate research assistant for a research project focusing on the retention of BIPOC Librarians.

Ayiana works as Student Success Librarian position at SUNY Polytechnic, and the campus delegate for SUNY Poly in SUNYLA (SUNY Librarians Association).
Ayiana is also the Chair-Elect for the Northeast Chapter of the Association for Information Science and Technology (NEASIST).
